Cahill Departs from Catalina Street

Experienced striker Tom Cahill will not be at Heidelberg United FC in 2020, ending his two-year stint at the ‘Bergers following the completion of the 2019 NPL Victoria season.

Cahill ably led the Heidelberg front line in his two seasons, using his great strength and guile to advantage on several occasions. Among the highlights in his ‘Bergers stint were a hat-trick against Pascoe Vale in a memorable come from behind win by a 10-man side at Fawkner in 2018, and a dramatic last gasp winner against Port Melbourne that kept ‘Berger hopes of a third successive Premiership alive late in the 2019 season.

Perhaps Cahill’s finest moment in a Heidelberg jumper was as part of the 2018 NPL Victoria Grand Final winning side, in which he was awarded the Jimmy Rooney Medal for being player of the match.

In all, Cahill made over 60 appearances for Heidelberg United, netting 28 goals in the process. Heidelberg United FC sincerely thanks Tom for his great contributions to the club and team, and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.
