Heidelberg United’s senior women are heading into Round 8 at the top of the ladder after an emphatic 3-0 win over a previously undefeated side in FC Bulleen Lions.

Head coach Johno Clemente described the Warriors’ move to the top of the table as a strong statement of intention, in his chat with HUFC Media concluding the recent contest.

“Like I said at the start of the season, our goal for the season is to put Heidelberg back on the map,” he said.

The first-placed ‘Bergers’ are looking to continue their dominance over the league taking on Bayside United FC who are yet to secure a win in the 2022 NPL Season.

Heidelberg continue to go from strength to strength as they head deeper into the NPL season, and Clemente shares that the squad remains as determined and hungry as ever.

“We all have the same goal – we want to be better. The lead and the ladder position at the moment is irrelevant,” he said.

“We all want to develop each other, I want to develop as a coach and I want to develop them as players. We all need each other and that’s where the culture comes from.”

The away clash will take place at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex, kicking off at 3:30pm on Saturday, May 21.
