Round 3 of NPL Victoria Women’s sees Heidelberg United face FV Emerging on Saturday afternoon, in a ‘home’ contest played at Knox Regional Football Centre.
With a win followed by a loss to start the 2022 season, the ‘Bergers will be hoping to get an immediate bounce back, responding from a tight contest against Alamein FC.
The upcoming opposition in FV Emerging will present the Warriors with promising female players as the name suggests, as part of a high-performance program.
The team assembled has mustered a 2-0 win over Alamein in opening round, and recently a 4-0 loss to Calder United. In the team’s opening round victory, Candice Kilderry and Ellie Vlaeminck were on the scoresheet.
FV Emerging presents a unique challenge for the Warriors this weekend, as noted by head coach Johno Clemente.
“It will be a similar game to Alamein with the way FV Emerging play their game,” he said.
“Every game is tough but the less mistakes we make the better, and equates to more games we’ll win than we lose.”
The ‘Bergers and FV Emerging played only once in 2021 with the season shutdown, as a score line of 3-2 went in favour of Emerging.
