Return to training / trials and other important information

Dear players, parents, coaches and volunteers,

We know everyone is eager to get back out on the pitch and we thank you for your understanding and patience while we navigate the next steps in returning to football.

NPL TRIALS ARE NOT CURRENTLY AUTHORISED
As per Football Victoria’s (FV) communication (NPL Operational Memo – 2022 Trial Period Information Conditions) from the 19 October 2021, NPL Clubs are not allowed to trial until the trial dates are confirmed by FV.

Community Sport will need to have reached “Return to Play” status (not just Return to Train status) prior to trials commencing. We understand that other clubs are trialing but Heidelberg United FC will follow FV’s requirements.

We anticipate that over the next few days, FV will release their Return to Play guidelines (after more restrictions ease) which will allow the Club to complete and submit its COVID-Safe Plan to Banyule Council for approval.

We anticipate we will return to the club for trials (if sanctioned by FV) or at least some form of training by 6 November 2021.

We have all been in lockdown for such a long time that we hope you will all use this Cup weekend to catch up with family and friends and we will refocus on football the following week.

The FV communication applies to NPLW trials also.

NPL JUNIOR BOYS, NPLW, MINIROOS PROGRAMS
As soon as we can return (anticipated 6 November) we will be announcing trial dates and training for all programs. We ask you to be patient as we work behind the scenes to get every player back on the park safely.

VACCINATIONS
Even though the Metropolitan Melbourne Roadmap released on the 21 September 2021 clearly stated that all community sport participants would be required to be fully vaccinated, we ARE PLEASED that this requirement has changed and participants (players, coaches etc) DO NOT need to be vaccinated to return to sport.

Please note, that we do not know if this will change in the future and the Club will always follow Government Directives/Guidelines.

The Club sincerely looks forward to seeing you all back at Olympic Park!
