Heidelberg United is all set for match of the round, hosting ladder-leading Bulleen Lions at Olympic Park on Saturday afternoon, in Round 7 of NPL Victoria Women’s Competition.
The top of the table clash will see the ‘Bergers hunting out the top spot of the NPL ladder, where on best form they can cause the undefeated Lions some troubles.
In what has been a very successful start to the season for the Warriors so far, the United Women will want to reassert themselves following a close loss against Box Hill United the week before, going down 1-2 at Olympic Park.
Head coach Johno Clemente reiterated the progress made this campaign.
“It’s exciting to be fighting for top spot after six games played, and to exceed everyone’s expectations of how we’d start,” he said.
“However, last week showed how tight the league is and the table is close. It doesn’t matter if we’re first after Saturday, second or even fifth, it only matters at the end of the season and we’re still building this team which people forget so it’s an exciting fixture.
“Bulleen are a tough challenge for any team, but I think that so are we.”
Kick off for this highly anticipated contest is 3:00pm at Olympic Park this Saturday May 14.
