Warriors Cruising In Vets League

The Heidelberg United Women’s Veterans enjoyed an evening out. For years, Keilor Park in the league has been our nemesis but in this friendly over 30’s social competition it was great to have one over on them. Albeit not the same but for many it was the sense of occasion and having fun.

The team was particularly thrilled to have their championship-winning coach John Lioupas back at the helm after he was sidelined due to illness and missed the last game. Lioupas has been instrumental in the team’s success in the past, and his return was a welcome boost.

Speaking to Heidelberg TV, Lioupas expressed his happiness at being back coaching. Despite his presence, the team’s current form was so impressive that they could almost coach themselves to another championship. “The players have been working hard on the field, and their performances have been outstanding”

In addition to Lioupas, the team’s assistant coach Alison Brain has helping. Her instructions from the sidelines have been invaluable, and her contributions have been like “yesteryear.”  The Heidelberg United Women’s Veterans continue to impress and with the return of their championship-winning coach John Lioupas and the guidance of assistant coach Alison Brain, the team is poised for more fun & success.
